I ar directed by the Postmaster-General to
inform you that it has been found necessary to prohibit, with the undermentioned exceptions, the conveyance of coin or bullion
to or from the United Kingdom by means of Parcel Post.
The enforcement of this new rule will be
deferred until the 1st. of June next, so as to obviate any
possibility of inconvenience to the public.
On and after that date no parcel which
contains coin or bullion will be admissible to the Parcel Post
to or from this Country, except
1.
Farcels containing coin or bullion not exceeding five pounds in value,
2.
and
Parcels containing coin which is clearly designed
for purposes of ornament.
